Valentine's Day. That wonderful day filled with flowers and chocolate, hearts and dinners for two. So why am I not excited?
I have a love/hate relationship with Valentine's Day. It's only because I don't want to be told that I should do this or buy that or act this way or that way just because.
You know how much I love Christmas, yet I feel the same way about it sometimes. I love the idea of the holidays. I love the décor, the artistry, the idea of romance but that's it! It's not that I don't like romance, I love, love, romance. I just love it when I want to love it and not just because a day on the calendar dictates it.
That doesn't mean I want to take it way from you! I enjoy seeing you enjoy your day. It's just not for me. I don't want flowers, or a card or chocolates on Valentine's Day, I want flowers on other days or tomorrow or when I least expect it. AND I don't want you or I to stress over a day. I want to just let it pass. So to you I say - Happy Valentine's Day - enjoy it if you enjoy it.
Come back next week for the next part of this series!
It's me, just trying to get by.
