Every year we go crazy on Thanksgiving, not only cooking but baking! I remember years ago, my mother always had multiple pies to choose from for dessert. CRAZY!
I thought it would nice to focus on the kids for desserts. I found these really easy desserts that you can do with the kids. If your kids are older, they may even do these by themselves, with your supervision. Click the image or title for the links and most of the links include more recipes.
This is the final part of the 5-part blog series THANKSGIVING.
Since next Thursday is THANKSGIVING, there will not be a blog post,
just a Thanksgiving Wish.
The next 5 part series will be all about my favorite holiday:
There's nothing like a beautiful table centerpiece. However, you have to balance it all out with your place settings, and other things that will be on the table. You don't want the centerpiece to overpower the table or be an obstacle either. It's also your choice to leave the centerpiece on the table or remove it at dinner. In my house, it gets put aside because well, there just isn't enough room for it!
It's easy enough to purchase centerpieces such as flowers or plants and you should if you are flat out busy! Or you can do it yourself which is of course, my preference and I would most likely make myself crazy over it. In the end I would be happy that I did!
I found some ideas to share with you for your Thanksgiving Centerpieces. Click the image or title to get to the links. Each link has many more fantastic and beautiful ideas that you can do yourself. Feel free to comment and send me your ideas! Be Creative! There's one for the kids at the end!
Come back next week for the final part of THANKSGIVING!
How do you set your Thanksgiving table? Are you the elegant-use-your-china type? Or are you the more casual and anything goes type? At one time I did use my china on Thanksgiving, however I no longer have formal China. I do have a rustic style set of dishes and accessories that I use only on Thanksgiving. I take them out and clean them and admire them once each year. Sounds silly but that's what I do. What about you?
Check out the beautiful table settings below for ideas. The images are linked and the websites are also full of more Thanksgiving ideas!
Do you know or care to know how to do a proper place setting? I sort of have my own way and it's close enough to the "proper" way. Below are examples of formal and informal table settings.
Proper Place Setting Formal and Informal
Don't ever stress over "formalities". Just do whatever you like and make it your own.

Come back next week for part four of THANKSGIVING!
It's me, just trying to get by.
