Welcome to my new 5 part Blog series called "Fall can be Fabulous!" For the next 5 weeks on Thursdays, I'll highlight something to do with fall. You can expect anything from apples, pumpkins, scarecrows and more.
Today it's all about the APPLE! Are you going apple picking? Taking the kids? Or are you planning to just go and buy them at the orchard? Planning to bake something apple-delicious? Feeling apple-crafty? Read on.
DESTINATION: HONEY POT HILL, STOW, MA
For your trip to the orchard, you have so many options. I recommend Honey Pot Hill, in Stow. It's a wonderful apple orchard and farm. It's family friendly.
Picture yourself on a nice warm Fall day, with apples and pumpkins and the glorious smell of the hot cider donuts cooking. I love this place.
The kids can enjoy the farm animals; roosters, bunnies, ducks and goats. There's a huge hedge maze and hayrides. You can pick your own apples or just go to the Appleshop where they have lots of varieties of apples for pie, donuts, cider, peaches and more. And of course - they have lots of pumpkins!

CRAFT HOME DECOR: APPLE VOTIVES
You have to love Martha Stewart! She has so many great ideas that are really very easy to do. You don't have to be a wizard at making crafts to do this one. Just be careful of this around the kids.

Of course, there are many other awesome ideas on the site as well.
I've offered my own recommendations here but if you are looking for other apple orchards to visit, please go here: http://www.pickyourown.org/massapples.htm for a huge listing.
